Have you ever gone through a disappointment as a result of broken promises, or unmet expectations?
It is said of a certain commander that when he was marching to help a friend, his troops faltered:
“It can’t be done!”
His answer was, “It must be done! I have promised to be there – promised, do you hear? You would not have me break my word!”
He would not be hindered, for his promise had been given.
We all admire men and women who keep their promises. Out tendency and proclivity is to trust and confide in people who have a track record of keeping promise!
The truth is that the promise of man is not foolproof…
Even trusted friends can disappoint!
….and I am realizing that sometimes disappointment is a blessing in disguise…
..Because it teaches you to expect little or nothing from man while fully depending on God!
